Choosing a builder? Ask questions first, don’t pay the price later

In selecting the right firm to build your project, it’s important that you ask the right questions, says Build18 health and safety expert Darren Donaghy from Donaghy Safety Training Ltd.
Site safety is the responsibility of the person managing the project, whether it’s a self-build or a multi-unit development.
With that in mind, it’s vital that the people chosen to carry out the work have the right answers to all of your questions before setting foot on site. First of all though, it’s important that you know what questions to ask.

Health and Safety for Self Builds

Darren Donaghy explains: “We all want to build a safe home for our family but what about building that home safely?
“At Build18 on March 24th and 25th in Newtowncunningham Business Park, I’ll be advising project managers of the sorts of questions they should be asking to ensure they get the right professional for the job. I’ll also be highlighting sorts of things you’ll be responsible for if you intend on managing the building process yourself.”
Build18 will take place at Newtowncunningham Business Park on Saturday (10am-4pm) and Sunday (12-4pm), March 24th and 25th. Anyone building, thinking of building, planning a project, renovating, extending, buying or selling a property simply cannot afford to miss it.
